2005 - Seema´s Story

Seema Serej is one of many young people who have volunteered their time as a teacher/counselor for the youth at ArtMill. Seema wrote to us, upon her return to Los Angeles after the summer in Šumava, of the life-changing experiences she encountered here: the fresh garden food, the conservation of water, the recycling, the community. She started riding the bus, instead of driving her car everywhere. Here is a photo documentation of ArtMill from the eyes of a 17-year-old Persian-American from L.A., visiting Europe for the first time, and sharing her talents on the piano with many youngsters, of all ages.  Thank-you, Seema!

Kim Abeles was our Artist-in-Residence in 2005.   Kim kept her door open to the studio all day, where students could pop in and get a costume re-designed, watch her draw, or see a video being edited on her computer. She surprised us with this lovely short video when she left.
