ArtMill in the World

ArtMill's Director Barbara Benish spoke to hundreds of youth in Houston, Texas on art and sustainability.

At the Univerisity of Houston, KIPP schools, and to the public, ArtMill relayed the message of expanding our creativity to problem solve for the future. For Safe Planet, Barbara spoke on other issues like plastic pollution in the oceans and "the body burden". With Liane Soukup, our Safe Planet partner in Houston, we met with the Texas Association of Environmental Professionals and learned of local challenges on the Gulf Coast of the U.S. From there we participated in the Transformative Education Forum in Monterey, California, which brought together nearly 70 international educators, policy makers, activists, visionaries and environmentalists to engage on issues of changing the way we learn, globally. A draft paper was submitted for the United Nations Rio +20 conference in June based on the challenging agenda proposed in Monterey. for more information see http://tef.nps.edu/web/guest/tef-2011;jsessionid=B370FD3B42642B32D923116B90CF58D3
