WHERE \ the Mill

Barn & Studio

The barn is still full of hay, and in the warm months, also students. It is an ideal retreat from the sun, and houses several areas for studio space. Under the eaves of the barn, facing south, is where we have our tables for working , eating, and sitting in the evenings around the fire. It is the hub of ArtMill. We open up the large barn doors to the West, and have the lake at our doorstep for that inevitable afternoon swim. What was the stye for pigs is now the Studio, or "internet cafe" as we affectionately call it. Here we have a library of artist's catalogues and art books in English, including theory, and art history. It's a hang-out place, with color printer, scanners, and other techie stuff. The Barn also makes a great gallery to hang up what we've done each day. The scents of fresh clover and hay mix with ever-present smoky wood fire, and the tinkling sounds of the old upright piano.
