Meet our interns!

Esther Stilwell has taken on the role of Program Manager this summer. Esther also recently graduated from Pitzer College with degrees in both Studio Art and Organizational Studies. She is an artist that works in video and performance, focusing on themes of utopia and pseudoscience.

Holly Eichrodt also joins us this summer as an intern working to archive and catalogue ArtMill’s collection of work. Holly graduated from University of California, Santa Cruz with a degree in art and environmental studies. Her work as an artist is primarily sculpture based and ties in concepts dealing with the environment, the way we look at it, and our impact on it. More recently, she’s been interested in using stop-motion animation as a vector for these themes.

Emma Stolarski is an interdisciplinary artist and recent graduate from Pitzer College where she studied both Art and International Intercultural studies. Her work is largely focused on the lives of inanimate things and how we interact and communicate with them. She was first trained in darkroom photography and continues to use the camera in her work, while also including other tactile materials, such as clay, wood, metal, and fibers. She is newly based in New York City though has found home in Illinois, Singapore, and California. She is ecstatic to return to the vastness of open fields and contribute to ArtMill’s creative community.

It looks to be a stellar summer with another incredible ArtMill Team this year... Standa, Emma, Esther, Holly, Jono, Honza, Matouš, Katka, Ondrej, Alča, Venca, Hanka are all working hard to get ready for the invited artists about to arrive next week. Nati is returning to the kitchen by popular demand, and Gabi is once again helping out as Mill Manager. Our fabulous interns are updating the websites, getting out invitations for the Civic Women project, repairing art, cleaning and sweeping, gardening, eating fresh rasberries, as well as making their own art. We are delighted to have Holly, Emma and Esther with us this summer.
