Sailing červeny rýbník?

Is it possible to build a boat in 21 days and sail on a Czech lake?

Yes! With surfer, sailor and eco-artist Stephen Amato-Salvatierra here at ArtMill this summer, anything is possible. When not taking luscious photos of the California waves, and life at sea, Stephen is usually out on the water in some way. As part of the "Ahoy" project in Prague a couple of years ago, this talented artist helped us build a raft of recycled bottles to raise awareness on plastic pollution across the country. Launched at Museum Kampa on the River Vltava, our raft and outreach were part of the Respect Festival. Stephen's sailing experiene with our friends at 5Gyres Institute, who are researching plastics in the ocean, first gave him the impulse to sail. And now we are lucky to have him helping us again: this time to launch our own sailboat, for students, artists, and staff to enjoy the lake out front, up close, (and currently very green). We'll see what our intrepid expedition to the far reaches of the pond will bring back!
